B.Tech - Civil Engineering Eligibility Criteria

The aspirants have to fulfil all the eligibility criteria mentioned below to pursue B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a reputed institute -

  • Students should have completed their class XIIth studies in Science stream from a recognised Board
  • Students should have mandatorily studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at the qualifying level
  • Students should have secured a minimum aggregate of 50% in the aforementioned subjects at the qualifying level and pass marks in the remaining subjects (varies from institute to institute)
  • Students with a diploma degree in the relevant discipline after their class Xth/XIIth studies are also eligible for the B.Tech civil engineering programme

B.Tech Civil Engineering Admission Process

The popular B.Tech civil engineering colleges/institutions offer admissions on the basis of both merit and entrance exam scores. Various institutions accept the scores of national-level and state-level entrance exams like JEE Main, UPSEE, WBJEE etc for the purpose of admission into their B.Tech civil engineering programme whereas some institutes conduct their own entrance exam for the same like BITSAT, SRMJEE etc. Some engineering institutions also offer direct admission into their B.Tech civil engineering programme in their management quota seats provided the students/applicants fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria laid down by them.
